HISTORY: Troop 95 was established April 1, 1970 by first Scoutmaster Pete Bade and first Committee Chairman Gordon Hirt, both church trustees at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
BOY RUN TROOP: We’re a boy-run troop with active adult support. Once a year we hold elections and the scouts elect the new Senior Patrol Leader, who then chooses 2 assistants. The boys plan and run the meetings, the trips and activities for the year.
EAGLE SCOUTS: Troop 95 currently has 107 Eagle Scouts. Nationally, fewer than 4% of boys who join scouting reach Eagle. Troop 95 has had more than 10% of its membership attain this goal in recent years, with about 4-5 boys earning it each year.
SUMMER CAMP: The boys vote on which summer camp to attend the following summer. We have almost full participation in summer camp every year. There is plenty of opportunity to earn Merit Badges, do rank advancement and, most importantly, have fun.
ADVANCEMENT &MERIT BADGES: We always have opportunities for the boys to work on rank advancement during our outings and campouts. There is plenty of leadership available to help sign off on items when the boys want to complete requirements. Merit Badges can be earned throughout the year.
SCOUTING PROGRAM: At Troop 95, we try to focus on leadership, advancement, friendship, fun and respect for the outdoors. We encourage the boys to take on leadership roles throughout their career in scouting. There is plenty of room to make friends with other scouts who are always working together and willing to help others, which prompts camaraderie among all of the scouts. We play games during troop meetings and all the boys come together to work and play as a team. Most of our trips are outdoor-oriented and the boys see that nature needs to be respected.
