Troop 179 attends at least one long-term summer camp (six-nights) in June or July each year. In early October of each year our scouts vote on which camp they would like to attend for the next summer. They usually consider a site that provides a First Year Camper and a High Adventure program. This year we are attending two summer camps:
- Camp Lions (Tidewater Council) at Pipsico Scout Reservation in Spring Grove, VA from June 21 to June 27, 2020. Pipsico's website is http://pipsicobsa.com/
- Camp Daniel Boone (Daniel Boone Council) in Canton, NC from July 19 to July 25, 2020. Camp Daniel Boone's website is https://www.campdanielboone.org/
Every Scout and Adult Leader attending summer camp must have a complete medical form on file with the troop. This includes having a doctor's signature that you have had a physical within one year of attending camp. Three copies, including the front and back of your insurance card, must be submitted to Marie Kane.
