Our Troop
Troop 95 is sponsored by Horne-Mudlitz VFW Post No. 6377 in Sussex. We belong to the Potowatomi Area Council and the North District. Troop 95 has approximately 16 active scouts. We enjoy varios activities including camping, cooking and participating in council sponsored activities. The scouts choose what activities they wish to participate in during their annual planning meeting at the beginning of the year.
Scout Leadership
Troop 95 is a scout led troop. The troop is currently comprised of two patrols. The scouts are led by a Senior Patrol Leader who relies on two Patrol Leaders elected by their patrols. The Patrol Leader Council (PLC) plans the troop meetings and outings with guidance from the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters.

Scout Advancement
Troop 95 is proud of the 43 members who have reached the rank of Eagle Scout since the troop’s inception in 1969. Many scouts attain rank advancement through summer camp programs. Boys are encouraged to earn merit badges individually or in groups. Courts of Honor are held periodically to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the boys.
Meetings
Our troop meetings are typically held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, from 7:00pm-8:15pm (school days 8:30 summertime), at the Horne-Mudlitz VFW Post located at W232N6342 Waukesha Avenue, Sussex, WI. The 4th Monday is devoted to the Patrol Leaders Council meeting. The 3rd Monday we hold a parent meeting to keep parents informed of announcements and upcoming activities; we solicit feedback for how the troop is doing; and we encourage and seek new ideas for the future.Scouting Activities and Outings.

*Annual events Fundraising
Troop 95 holds several fundraising events per year. Currently we hold a fall wreath, popcorn, danish and coffee sale. In Spring we have a spring flower sale and we host brat fry weekend(s) during the summer months. We also provide concessions for the British Car Show held every Father’s Day at Sussex Village Park. Each scout has a portion of the funds he raises credited to his scout account to help offset the costs of outings they attend. Several of our scouts totally fund their scouting activities and outings from these fundraisers.
Parent Participation
Troop 95 has an active parent base. We encourage parents to help out in a variety of ways ranging from driving scouts to various outings, to serving in leadership positions within our Troop. Parents are also encouraged to serve as merit badge counselors. Our Troop Committee meets the second Tuesday each month to discuss ongoing troop issues and to ensure troop’s success and safety.
Please join us at any of our troop or committee meetings.
