Scouting is for fun
Scouts will challenge themselves by building and racing Pinewood Derby Cars, Raingutter Regatta Boats, Water Bottle Rockets, Model Rockets and a Klondike Derby Sled.
Assist our local community with service projects such as Scouting for Food, Scout Sweep, Backpack Food Program and Park Clean-up.
Enjoy the outdoors with activities such as Family Camping (5 times a year), hiking, fishing, parades, flag ceremonies, snow tubing, kickball, skating, streamwalks and picnics.
Let’s go see it! Visit local battlefields, monuments, nature centers and local agencies.
Plans for Summer? Cub Scouts of all ages can attend a week long District Day Camp in Frederick, MD.
Webelos (4th and 5th grade) Scouts can attend a week long sleepover Resident Camp at Goshen Scout Reservation with their Parents and Leaders in Virginia.

So, what kind of commitment is Scouting?
During September through May we ask that you attend your Scout's twice a month Den Meeting (1 hour each) to keep him on track with his advancement trail as well as our once a month Pack Meeting (1 hour 15 min) to honor your Scout's achievements he has earned. On occasion your Scout may have some "homework", like painting his pinewood derby car, but we promise it's minimal and fun!
The rest is up to YOU...
Instead of hosting Den or Pack meetings during the summertime we offer Scouts the opportunity to earn special achievement awards such as the Youth Patriotism Award or the God and Me Class. Don't forget summer camp! But remember this part is all OPTIONAL!
